Blends don’t always get the respect they deserve in specialty coffee circles, but we look at them differently. For us, a lighter blend is an ultimate creative tool + the perfect springboard into the wider world of specialty flavours.
By combining a structured, buttery washed lot fromGuatemala with a vibrant, floral natural fromEthiopia, we are able to highlight the best of both regions. The result is a cup that strikes an incredible balance between comforting, classic sweetness and complex, fruity vibrancy. It tastes like a liquid version of a pastry shop delicacy: pure white chocolate and yogurt-covered berries.
If you are curious about the bright, fruit-forward notes of lighter roasts but still want a well-rounded, balanced all-day drinker, White Velvet is designed for you. It gently introduces those exciting, unfamiliar flavours and crisp origin characteristics without the overwhelming acidity or "funk" that can sometimes feel too challenging.
The Randolfo Pacheco (70%) anchors the cup, providing a sweet, comforting foundation of white chocolate, buttery baked goods, and rich macadamia nuts.
The Mengeshe Gumi (30%) layer provides the lift, bringing forward delicate florals and the sweet-and-tart pop of yogurt-covered berries.

OUR IMPRESSIONS
When we combined these two coffees, they fell into place quite naturally. The cup behaves like a trip to a pastry shop: you get a comforting, sweet foundation of white chocolate, macadamia nuts, and butter cookies, balanced by a lighter top layer of chocolate milk, mixed berries, and the sweet-and-tart creaminess of yogurt-covered berries. It leaves a consistently silky, velvety mouthfeel.
White Velvet is straightforward to work with. It drinks cleanly as a black filter coffee, and it performs well as an espresso provided your grinder can handle the finer settings required for lighter roasts. It makes a clean base for an americano, cortado, or macchiato.
